Bridgnorth & District Round Table is located in beautiful rural Shropshire, in the UK. We have members from around the Bridgnorth area, and also join in with other nearby Tables.
We use this site to keep in touch with Round Table members and show visitors what we get up to within Round Table.
Round Table is a great social organisation for young men aged 18 to 45.

Who joins and why?
So if you would like to meet new friends, have an increased social life, enjoy a beer or two and put something back into your local community - get in touch - try us out, we promise you'll enjoy it.
We guarantee no funny handshakes or rituals, just a good night out with a few blokes just like yourself.
The members of Round Table come from all walks of life and join for a variety of reasons - perhaps as a gateway to relaxation and to enjoyment, or as a way of participating in the local community. It is, of course, an ideal way for those who have moved into a new area to find new friends of a similar age.
Membership of Round Table helps to create confidence and character. The individual learns quickly to mix and 'have-a-go' at helping to organise and run meetings and events. The organisation is run by and for Tablers as a hobby.
How do I become a member?
After attending as a guest, potential members are invited to join. There are no barriers regarding one's political, religious, occupational or marital status and the only qualification is to be male, over 18 and under 45.

The first Round Table was formed in Norwich in 1927. The founder, Louis Marchesi, was a young Rotarian who felt a need existed for a club where the young business men of the town could gather on a regular basis to exchange ideas, learn from the experiences of their colleagues and play a collective part in the civic life of Norwich . Within a year membership of this Round Table had grown to 85 and interest had been shown in establishing Round Tables elsewhere.
Round Table owes nothing to Arthurian Legend, deriving both its title and its maxim from a speech made to the British Industries Fair in 1927 by the then Prince of Wales - "The young business and professional men of this country must get together round the table, ADOPT methods that have proved so sound in the past, ADAPT them to the changing needs of the times and wherever possible, IMPROVE them". The design of the Round Table emblem is, however, an adaptation of the table which hangs in the great hall, Winchester and which is claimed to be the Round Table of the court of King Arthur.
Round Table has used the motto of Adopt, Adapt and improve to make it an organisation which is still relevant in the 21st century. |
